Ok, here’s a little pet peeve of mine. People who inch their cars forward at red lights.
Here’s why I think it’s silly: Your automatic response to the light changing is to do the opposite of whatever you are currently doing. For example, if you’re accelerating and see the light turn red, you automatically break. If you’re breaking and the light turns green, you accelerate. When people are inching forward at a red light and the light turns green, their automatic response is to do the opposite – break – even though they are just ever so eager to get moving. All I’m saying is that it is a pointless activity. Unless, of course, you’ve been sitting at a light forever and ever and you just cannot believe that the system has detected your presence. I don’t know if getting closer helps, but I understand the instinct.
And while we’re on the topic of driving…please for the love of all that is holy LEAVE ENOUGH FOLLOWING DISTANCE. Some people (me, yes I’m making this about me) have been in accidents and live in perpetual fear of being hit and the fear of being rear-ended is constant. So do everyone a favor and back off (literally).
Ok, that’s all for now. As you were.
